Three moons are rising. They are rising over the snowy Archen Mountains, where Teia struggles through the high passes to carry her warning to the Empire: The Nimrothi war band is poised to invade and at their head stands Ytha. She means to release the Wild Hunt - and with it Maegern the Raven, the Keeper of the Dead. In the desert of Gimrael, the moons are rising over the fires of revolution - flames that have already robbed Gair of a friend and left him alone in a hostile city, unsure even if the Song is still his to command. He has one last duty to discharge, and then nothing will stand between him and his ultimate goal: Vengeance. And in the Nordmen's chilly halls, Savin plays out a game in which kings and chieftains and men are but pawns on a chessboard that spans the Veil itself. Three moons are rising. When the trinity is complete, the endgame will begin. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Allan Corduner. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/orio/000639/bk_orio_000639_sample.mp3. Who ever said being nice would get you to the top? Certainly not Alexandra Miles. She isn't nice, but she's more than skilled at playing the part. She floats through the halls of Spencer High, effortlessly orchestrating the actions of everyone around her, making people bend to her whim without even noticing they're doing it. She is the queen of Spencer High - and it's time to make it official. Alexandra has a goal, you see: homecoming queen. Her ambitions are far grander than her small town will allow, but homecoming is just the first step to achieving total domination. So when peppy, popular Erin Hewett moves to town and seems to have a real shot at the crown, Alexandra has to take action. With the help of her trusted friend, Sam, she devises her most devious plot yet. She'll introduce an unexpected third competitor into the mix, one whose meteoric rise - and devastating fall - will destroy Erin's chances once and for all. Alexandra can run a scheme like this in her sleep. What could possibly go wrong? Lara Deloza's crackling depiction of a perpetually two-steps-ahead popular girl makes for a fun, wicked story with a protagonist that listeners will love to hate. 1. Language: English. Liberation Square: Inside the Egyptian Revoluti...

A definitive, absorbing account of the Egyptian revolution, written by a Cairo-based Egyptian-American reporter for Foreign Policy and The Times (London), who witnessed firsthand Mubarak's demise and the country's efforts to build a democracy. In early 2011, the world’s attention was riveted on Cairo, where after three decades of supremacy, Hosni Mubarak was driven from power. It was a revolution as swift as it was explosive. For 18 days, anger, defiance, and resurgent national pride reigned in the streets - protestors of all ages struck back against police and state security, united toward the common goal of liberation. But the revolution was more than a spontaneous uprising. It was the end result of years of mounting tension, brought on by a state that shamelessly abused its authority, rigging elections, silencing opposition, and violently attacking its citizens. When revolution bloomed in the region in January 2011, Egypt was a country whose patience had expired - with a people suddenly primed for liberation. As a journalist based in Cairo, Ashraf Khalil was an eyewitness to the perfect storm that brought down Mubarak and his regime. Khalil was subjected to tear gas alongside protestors in Tahrir Square, barely escaped an enraged mob, and witnessed the day-to-day developments from the frontlines. From the halls of power to the back alleys of Cairo, he offers a one-of-a-kind look at a nation in the throes of an uprising. Liberation Square is a revealing and dramatic look at the revolution that transformed the modern history of one of the world’s oldest civilizations. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ashraf Khalil. School Boards and Community Participation

This book is based on an extensive study that examines the role of school boards and the management of community junior secondary schools in Botswana. The Botswana government entered into a partnership venture with respective communities in their drive to achieve the goal of the universalisation of a ten year basic education programme. The study reveals that whilst the intentions were noble, the programme had many weaknesses. Most notably, the concept of community was not clearly defined. Once the schools were built (via World Bank funding) the communities were not able to meet their side of the bargain, for example, they were unable to build the required number of staff houses, school halls and kitchens. The boards too, were rife with problems. They did not have the right calibre of members and they were not committed to raise funds nor were they too involved with the schools. In the end, what started off to be a partnership ended up as a one-sided government project. On the positive side the boards are a good example of a decentralized mechanism that can link schools with their communities and the government or other stake holders.

The examples of these men are incentives to action. Poverty thrust them forward instead of keeping them back. Therefore, if you are poor make your circumstances a means to an end. Have ambition, keep a goal in sight and bend every energy to reach that goal. A story is told of Thomas Carlyle the day he attained the highest honor the literary world could confer upon him when he was elected Lord Rector of Edinburgh University. After his installation speech, in going through the halls, he met a student seemingly deep in study.

Recommended for readers who like their fantasy with a touch of heroism, fantasy and brutal magic action' The Founding Fields'Trinity Rising has the same poetic power and intesity [as Songs of the Earth], the same rich narrative and is ultimately just as rewarding. I am really looking forward to see how this series develops and I have a feeling it could become an epic to rival the scale of Wheel of Time or A Song of Ice and Fire, I look forward to the journey'SFBook.com
